From 2010 to 2014, Otmar Wagner collaborated as a performer with norton.commander.productions (Harriet Maria & Peter Meining). The productions were developed in Dresden and staged at various venues in Germany and Austria. The development process involved extensive filming for video works, which formed an important part of the stage productions. After 2014, Harriet Maria & Peter Meining turned their attention entirely to film production (MauserFilm).

In the first part, Lucas Cranach’s depiction of Paradise is inflated using compressors. God trains his children in a shopping centre, and ›Imagine‹ is performed in ten musically completely different styles.

What begins as a philosophical lecture soon gets out of hand. The struggle with the big questions of meaning, morality and faith turns into a biographical self-examination. Miniatures of failure alternate with calculations of the professional and career benefits of attending a Catholic grammar school. Is ›God‹ that higher authority which ensures a stable system of values, the absence of which results in moral chaos and ethical relativism? Or is it a self-deceptive machine of illusion, a bank offering unlimited credit, as long as one believes in it?
