With ›WOUNDED WORLD #End: Me.Europe‹, Otmar Wagner has created a scenic installation as a visual and audio play. It centres on the key question: Why do we get up in the morning? What drives the ›achievement-subject‹ out into the day? Is it self-love, which consists of functioning as ordinary and useful human capital, as a working consumer, as purchasing power, as an anti-fascist do-gooder? Why, despite all our strenuous efforts at self-optimisation, does the skin become porous, the teeth rot, whilst shingles flares up?
This performative environment marks the conclusion of the WOUNDED WORLD cycle. Wagner takes up some of the motifs from the essay-performances WOUNDED WORLD #1–#3 and places them in new contexts.
